Title: Evacuation Binder - Insert for Financial and Insurance Info

13 December 2025

The Evacuation Binder was introduced earlier in 2025 (EVAC BINDER).

Time for a quick follow-up. If you have been working through building your own EVAC BINDER but encountered some challenges, maybe today's post will help get you making some progress. Again, we will reiterate that the information contained within the pages of your EVAC BINDER are very, very personal and this information needs to be protected like a stack of $100 notes.

After a recent issue with my own bank, I would like to share a basic sheet for capturing basic info about banking accounts and insurance policies. trust me, you do not want to be locked out of your account and then try to go looking for this information. A paper hard copy in your EVAC BINDER could mean the difference between an inconvenience and a personal disaster scenario. In my recent experience, it was merely an inconvenience - a two hour drive (return trip) to unlock my account at the closest bank branch after bank security locked my account to protect me from a potential e-transfer fraud. In my case, it was a legitimate transaction I was trying to make. Enough about me, let's look at this insert sheet for your EVAC BINDER...

As you can see this not a complex form. Most folks can create their own version using a word processing program or APP. Or capture this image and print a copy of two to meet your needs. If you fill in the information using a pen or pencil, not worries of a hacker getting this information from your computer, laptop, tablet, or phone. Just hole punch and add to your EVAC BINDER.

That's it for today. I will endeavour to craft a few more of these type of insert sheets in the coming months to help you, complete your EVAC BINDER.

BONUS TIP: When evacuating, if you do not have a Go Bag or Evac Bag, and you only have time to grab two items...ensure you grab your EVAC BINDER and your laundry bag!!! This tip was recently shared with me. Reinforcing practical preparedness...keep your dirty laundry in a mesh laundry bag, if you evac, you know every item in your laundry fits you, is seasonally appropriate, and contains items you wear. Wherever you evacuate to, there will be a laundry mat somewhere nearby.

Stay ready, stay prepared...always be open to new ideas!
